I was provided with a copy of The Mill River Redemption for an honest review.

This touching story opened immediately at a tragedy, with the sudden death of her husband, Josie DiSanti was very frightened of her future bringing up her two young daughters on her own. The only place Josie felt she could go was to seek shelter at her aunt’s house in a small town called Mill River.

The story develops into an interesting family saga. It has many twists and turns and unexplained events come to light which changes the future of all concerned. I liked how the story flitted from one timeline to another, it felt like two novels in one. At times the story was very sad and touching but there were moments that were heart warming, fun and a little magical.

I enjoyed this novel immensely, it kept me engaged and I couldn’t quite believe the direction it went. I wasn’t expecting it and how the author wrote and described this scene made it all the more believable. I will certainly look out for more works by Darcie Chan. An enjoyable 4/5 read.

I loved this book. It was my first Penelope Douglas and won’t be my last. Penelope’s writing is fast paced and leaves you wanting/needing to read more. The story has intense emotions and highly charged sexual tension literally from the start.

The main characters Madoc and Fallon are quite a complicated pair and are constantly fighting their inner demons. Madoc is portrayed as the bad boy but you can’t help falling for him. This was a gripping, sexy, passionate, emotionally charged 5* read.

I was lucky enough to be chosen to beta read this book by Lisa J Hobman. This is Lisa’s fourth book to be published and it is a companion book to her first novel Bridge Over the Atlantic. Although, it’s a companion book I do feel it can be read as a stand alone but to fully appreciate the storyline and characters I would definitely read Bridge Over the Atlantic first.

After finishing reading this beta book I wasn’t disappointed. Greg’s character is just brilliant. He’s a man’s man and also has such passion and emotion that women can’t help falling for. I got emotional on many times reading this book. I could feel my heart breaking a few times for both Greg and Mallory and also Sam. This book has it all. Great character, great setting, great storyline full of warmth, humour, sadness, love and passion. Its a real page turner.

I can highly recommend this novel by Lisa J Hobman and her other stand alone stories.

This was the first book by Lynda that I’ve read and I adored it. I had such a lot of fun reading this book. Lynda writes with such openness and brings out so many laugh out loud one liners, I kept having to explain to my family why I was laughing. It was fun, flirty and fabulous. It was hilarious. It was sexy and romantic. It was a real page turner. I loved the main character, Flora, she was funny, clumsy, determined. And the male characters were described so well, you instantly fell for the charms and kindness of one and cringed and got annoyed with the other. Also, I will never look at a tube of Bio-freeze without laughing again!

I look forward to catching up with Lynda Renham’s back catalogue.
