This is the first novel I’ve read by C.L. Parker. C.L. Parker certainly knows how to write an addictive, passionate story with a competitive edge. The story is aimed for the 18+ age market.
Shaw Matthews and Cassidy Whalen are Sports Agents working for the same agency. Their rivalry in the firm has always been tangible as the profession is a very male dominant field and Cassidy has wokred very hard to achieve her position in the department. She believes however, that Shaw’s career was handed to him on a plate. The agency has learn’t that one of America’s top athletes is looking for a new agent and therefore sets a competition between both Shaw and Cassidy to win over Denver Rockford and get him to sign a contract with the company. The prize for the winning agent is parternship within the firm.
This proposition gets the duo soon riled up however, they both realise its not going to be an easy win. They both secretly decide to seduce the other agent to avert their attention off the goal.
What follows is a passionate, lust filled story of how far two people will go to get what they want. However, there is a twist in the story at the end which leaves you wanting to know what happens next and also makes you wonder is there more to lust and competition for the pair?
This was an enjoyable, passionate read and I can’t wait to find out what happens next for Shaw and Cassidy. Will their past hinder the here and now? I’m also looking forward to hearing more about the sub characters in the story and hope they will feature more in future instalments.
