cupid-bow-and-arrow-clip-artI’d like to thank the publishers for an arc of this novel in return for an honest review.

Unlucky in love Ellie has resorted to online dating after her engagement with Robert ended.  Online dating wasn’t like the glossy images portrayed on the numerous dating sites.  After countless disastrous dates Ellie decides to become a matchmaker and discover the formula for love.  Ellie with the help of her friends soon starts headhunting for the most eligible men and women, interviewing and profiling them, discovering what men want and what women would love.

What follows is a fun filled read with often hilarious moments and omgee really(?) moments.  I loved the characters the author, Haley Hill, created especially Steve and Mandi and the charming Nick sounded utterly gorgeous.  I loved the idea of Ellies’ name (Elleanor Rigby) and how it fitted so well with her character and the storyline, very clever.

The matchmaking business became a busy 24/7 job for Ellie and she was left wondering whether there was a perfect one for others and even herself …

The storyline flowed really well and I was left entertained with witty lines, glamorous and sexy characters, warm hearted characters, funny quirky characters, a beautiful love story that kept you guessing till the very end.  I am hoping for a sequel to follow up with the characters we learned and loved from this novel.

A fun, flirty debut novel 4.5/5*.  I look forward to more stories from Haley Hill as I believe she has plenty more in her and is one to watch for future bestselling novels.

I’d like to share a particular paragraph from the novel which made be smile …

“You’re the only girl I’ve met online who isn’t a fatty,” he said, getting up from his chair and sitting down next to me.  “But I’d say you’re more a size ten than an eight.”  I forced a smile.  “I don’t mind a bit of meat though” he said, his fingers creeping onto my thigh tongue edging out in anticipation.  His breath smelled of coffee and pickled onions.  I glanced at my watch and then downed my mojito.  This date hadn’t even made it to eight pm.
