IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BATTERSEA DOGS AND CATS HOME

Can Battersea’s loneliest cat find a home in time for Christmas?
It’s Christmas at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and Laura is desperate to find a home for Felicia, a spiky, bad-tempered moggy with a heart of gold. Her boyfriend, Rob, can’t understand why she’s spending so much time at work, but for Laura, the animals aren’t just a job – they’re her life. She needs a partner who understands that – doesn’t she?
As the December snow falls, Laura encounters nine people, all of whom need a little love in their lives and find it in new pets. Everyone needs somebody to curl up with at Christmas, and when the handsome Aaron walks in, he takes not just Felicia, but Laura’s heart too…
A heart-warming tale about loneliness, love, and the importance of furry friends – perfect to snuggle up with this Christmas.

Nine Lives of Christmas blog tour

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Florence McNicoll’s novel: The Nine Lives of Christmas.

Laura works for the cats in need of loving homes at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.  She loves her job and finds great satisfaction in pairing up the right adopter to the cat most suitable to their needs. This is the story of Laura matching up the personalities of nine cats from varying ages and pedigree to nine adopters who for one reason or another feel a little lost in the world and a cat will be the companion they need to comfort them right now and beyond.

We hear of the history of these nine individuals, why they are seeking the friendship of a furry friend and how the cats are very clever in choosing their perfect companion and forever home.

Away from the cats home Laura is discovering that her own partnership with boyfriend Rob might not be her perfect pairing and decisions of the heart have to be made.

I absolutely loved this story as a cat lover and owner of my very own rescue cat I was charmed and humbled by the stories around the daily life at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.  Battersea was opened in 1860 and it was one of the forefront charities in providing a rescue centre for small animals.  The social interaction of animals and humans is so rewarding and can bring so much joy and can also help with the owners health and wellbeing.  I feel very privileged to be able to promote this gorgeous book bringing attention to the valuable work that all animal rescue centres bring but in particular Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The Nine Lives of Christmas is a wonderfully uplifting story filled with hope and joy for the festive season and beyond. Cat lovers will lap it up and think it’s just purrfect!

I’d like to share a picture of my very own rescue cat; she arrived at the rescue centre heavily pregnant but sadly lost all her litter.  When we adopted her she still had swollen teats and was very shy but she soon settled in and has made herself at home.  She’s a wonderful little chatterbox and loves to join me when reading.
