A gorgeous new Christmas story from the author of best selling novel Little Pink Taxi
A flick of a feather duster and a sprinkle of Christmas magic …
Cassie Bell is used to mess. Her cleaning business, Bluebell Cleaning, is well known in the Cumbrian village of Red Moss. However, now it’s almost Christmas and Cassie has a slightly messier situation to deal with than she’s used to.

She’s been hired to help Stefan Lambert, an injured army helicopter pilot who’s staying at the local Belthorn Manor whilst he recovers. Stefan resents Cassie’s interference and is definitely not looking for Christmas cheer. But Cassie prides herself on sparkling surfaces – so, can she bring some festive sparkle to Stefan’s life too?

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Marie Laval’s latest novel: Bluebell’s Christmas Magic.

I bloomin’ loved this festive treat of a read from Marie Laval; it was adorable and addictive, I also feel like I want to read it all over again to experience the sprinkles of Christmas magic emanating from the pages.  Pure delight!

Cassie Bell took over her mum’s cleaning business a few years ago and Bluebell Cleaning is particularly busy during the festive season with holiday lets in the Lake District village fully booked.  Cassie has also been assigned a late project to cook and care for Stefan Lambert whilst he’s recuperating at Belthorn Manor.

Stefan Lambert is a French Army Pilot, during his last exercise he was injured badly, his good friend Charles, the owner of the manor, assured him of plenty of peace and quiet to aid with his recovery.  However, Stefan didn’t expect a whirlwind of sparkle and cheer that being Cassie Bell to disturb his equilibrium.  Cassie wasn’t at all perturbed by Stefan’s grouchy behaviour in fact it quite suited him with his rugged war-torn looks and gruff voice.  She continued to clean and work around him leaving little notes of joy to cheer him up … but was Cassie’s sprinkle of magic working on Stefan?

As Cassie and Stefan continue to work alongside each other a sizzling chemistry soon develops but they are both suffering from traumatic events in their past.  Can they both learn to face their fears and open up to each other?

With Christmas fast approaching the villagers are looking forward to lots of fun events with Guess the Santa, Comedy Night and a family wedding.  However, when the sudden spate of burglaries becomes more widespread fear spreads and suspicion causes animosity between them all.

Bluebell’s Christmas Magic is one of those gorgeous, addictive, sexy reads that you just want to devour again and again!

A heart-warming Christmas story to put you in the mood for the festive season.

All I want for Christmas is you … or you?
Eve Halligan is back in her hometown for Christmas after a whirlwind few years touring with her band, the Molotovs. A lot has changed since she left, but two things have stayed the same. One: Eve is head-over-heels in love with Lucien Malikov, the Molotovs’ bad boy lead singer. Two: Lucien is completely indifferent to her.
Still, Eve dreams that this could be the Christmas where she convinces Lucien that they’re made for each other. But when childhood friend and local caterer Theo Wright comes back into her life bringing with him festive cupcake and sausage roll conundrums, Eve begins to question whether her Christmas dreams have been wasted on the wrong man …

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Jackie Ladbury’s latest novel: Happy Christmas Eve.

Happy Christmas Eve is an adorable festive romance in novella size.  A perfect size to cosy up with on a cold afternoon with a pot of tea and biscuits … bliss!  Novellas are great introductions to new authors and after reading and loving Happy Christmas Eve I will definitely be checking out Jackie Ladbury’s book list.

Eve Halligan has been hopelessly in love with Lucien Malikov since she was a young girl so to be invited to be part of his band two years ago was a dream come true.  However, two years down the line and Eve is very disillusioned with Lucien and her life in the band.  She’s fed up of her love not being reciprocated and it breaks her heart each time she witnesses Lucien’s womanising ways.  She’s also starting to realise that her talents in the band are unrecognised.  It’s not until Eve and the band return home for Christmas and to participate in a charity show that Eve’s mind becomes a lot clearer.

Eve reignites her friendship with old school pal Theo who set up his own catering business in his home town.  Theo has been harbouring secret feelings for Eve but feels he can’t compete with her unrequited love for Lucien.

Eve’s other love is baking and she’s so pleased to help Theo out in a crisis and it soon feels like old times with great banter and warmth emanating not just from the ovens but from the friendship between Eve and Theo.

Eve knows she has to make a decision on her career and her personal life but she’s finding it so hard to accept the truth.  Will the shared love of baking give her some clarity in her decision making?

A lovely festive treat of a read that I wished was a full length novel as I didn’t want to leave Eve and Theo and wanted to learn more about them.  Maybe the author may revisit these characters in the future … please 🙂

Struggling to find the perfect Christmas gift? Step into Romantic Daze …

Daisy Kirk is a sucker for a love story, which is why she opened up her gift shop – because there’s nothing that makes Daisy happier than when she’s helped a customer achieve their own ‘happily ever after’ by finding the perfect Christmas gift for their loved one. And she absolutely does not just sell ‘soppy presents and frilly pants’ as her brother’s infuriating best friend, Eli, is so fond of suggesting.

The sad fact is that whilst Daisy is helping others with their love lives, hers is non-existent. But when unusual circumstances take Daisy and Eli on a road trip from London to rural Wales, will she finally get the happily ever after to her own Christmas love story?

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Hannah Pearl’s latest novel: Daisy’s Christmas Gift Shop.  This is my first introduction to the work of Hannah Pearl and her words captivated me in this most gorgeous, sexy, sweet, festive romcom.

Daisy owns and runs a bespoke gift shop just off the beaten track in the heart of London.  Her gift shop is unique in that she offers a personal gift finding service to all her customers locating the perfect gift to express gratitude and love to the recipient.  I adored the sound of Daisy’s shop and want to know where I can find a real-life version of it.

Daisy has a twin brother, Ben, who is a whizz with computers but isn’t very confident with his social skills and sometimes finds life a little overwhelming at times.  Ben and his best friend from childhood, Eli, work together for the government; it all sounds very exciting with secret missions and James Bond-esque espionage.  Daisy and Eli have a strained relationship at times and can often be found bickering but she has had a crush on Eli for as long as she can remember.  Eli sounded like the perfect James Bond, he had the looks, the six pack, the brains but sadly he also had commitment issues, he doesn’t believe in love after having his heart broken in the past which he feels cannot be mended.

When Ben starts showing unusual signs of behaviour Daisy and Eli go on a mission to try and help Ben.  This mission takes them on a journey across the country giving them ample opportunity to air out their emotions towards each other but are they both singing from the same hymn sheet?

Daisy’s Christmas Gift Shop is such a wonderful, entertaining, fun, heart-felt romcom that’s edged with a desire that’s been sizzling for years.  I loved it all and secretly hope for a sequel as I feel I can’t not have another story without our sexy, adorable and sweet secret agents in! 😉

Is Paris the city of happily ever afters?

Workaholic art historian Aurora Black doesn’t have time for fairy tales or Prince Charmings, even in the most romantic city in the world. She has recently been hired by a Parisian auction house for a job that could make or break her career. Unfortunately, daredevil journalist Cédric Castel seems intent on disrupting Aurora’s routine.

As Aurora and Cédric embark on a journey across France, they get more than they bargained for as they find themselves battling rogue antiques dealers and personal demons, not to mention a growing attraction to each other.

But with the help of a fairy godmother or two, could they both find their happily ever afters?

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Marie Laval’s latest novel: A Paris Fairy Tale.  This is my first introduction to the work of Marie Laval and I was swept away with this modern day fairy tale that was filled with a dashing hero, who was known for helping those in need and a shy heroine who was striving to be recognised in the field of art historians but she also desperately wanted the love of others and to be accepted for who she was.

When Aurora Black, Art Historian, was granted the job of researching a manuscript believed to be 100’s of years old she couldn’t believe her luck.  The manuscript was safely stored at an auction house in Paris awaiting authentication prior to it being auctioned.  Aurora was known as Black Ice for her coldness in the art world but underneath her smart exterior there was a vulnerable young woman who had experienced heartbreak and tragedy at such a young age.  Aurora kept this hard persona to protect herself.  However, when she is consumed with her work and is dazzled by the ancient manuscript and it’s artwork a softer side to Aurora is revealed and her face glows with the love of her work, art and it’s history.

Whilst Aurora is authenticating the manuscript local journalist Cédric Castel is assigned to shadow Aurora and write up an article with her findings.  However Cédric has ulterior motives for this article and he believes there is a dark underworld of crime revolved around the art world.  A friendship of sorts soon blossoms between Aurora and Cédric but when danger looms their lives and others are put at risk.  Is there a link to the manuscript and to the recent bouts of accidents?

A Paris Fairy Tale is an intriguing romance filled with an ancient mystery that dances with danger but sweeps you under it’s fairy tale spell.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting Angela Barton’s latest novel: Magnolia House.

This was my first introduction to the works of Angela Barton and I really enjoyed it, Angela Barton places you into the hearts of the character’s lives making you feel very welcomed and involved.

Magnolia House is an emotive journey for our characters in Magnolia House, especially our leading lady, Rowan Forrester.

Rowan and Tom Forrester were so excited with their new project renovating an old Georgian house in London.  The move from the north west of England to the capital city was full of excitement and anticipation with a view of their professional and personal lives set to thrive in London.  The house near Clapham Common sounded lovely and after four long months of work the couple were set to move in.

However, life was set to take a drastic turn for Rowan and her dreams were shattered.  Rowan was now faced with an emotional struggle of piecing her life back together again in a city she felt lost in.

The new pieces of Rowan’s life brought her opportune chances meeting people that were to make her life a little more bearable and they also brought much needed hope and light for the future.

Magnolia House is a story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster with Rowan.  It was dramatic, enlightening, inspiring, hopeful and had a wonderful underlying feeling of warmth.  Angela Barton’s beautiful descriptions of the renovations of the house make you want to find your own Georgian property to make your home.  Magnolia House was a home that became broken but brick by brick it slowly felt the warmth from the glow of light and hope emanating from the windows and from new friendships and new beginnings.

When you open up your home and your heart …

Rowan Forrester has it all – the happy marriage, the adorable dog, the good friends, the promising business and even the dream home after she and her husband Tom win a stunning but slightly dilapidated Georgian townhouse in London at auction.

But in the blink of an eye, Rowan’s picture-perfect life comes crashing down around her and she is faced with the prospect of having to start again.

To make ends meet she begins a search for housemates, and in doing so opens the door to new friends and new beginnings. But could she be opening the door to new heartbreak too?

Happy Publication Day to Angela Barton, I am so pleased to be able to share with you all an excerpt from Chapter 1.

April’s unexpected heat-haze danced as it levitated above broiled pavements. Shiny black slugs of melted tarmac dribbled into gutters, smelling as sickly-sweet as pineapple chunks. The news channels were proclaiming that it was going to be the hottest spring on record for the past seventeen years and the damp skin on Rowan’s back was testimony to that fact.

Rowan and her husband, Tom, were in Clapham, standing across the road from Magnolia House and looking up at it in disbelief. It was a neglected and weather-worn building and its flaking central front door didn’t bode well for the rest of the house. The sash windows looked rotten where paint had peeled and rain had drenched the exposed wood. The low parapet that was built around the edge of the roof was crumbling in parts and missing in others. Its only redeeming feature was a mature magnolia tree standing in the diminutive front garden.

Rowan unfolded the page from the newspaper that Tom had shown her at breakfast the previous morning and, after great excitement, they’d decided to drive to London for a viewing.

‘It says here,’ Rowan read, ‘elegant semi-detached Georgian town house with basement accommodation. In need of some modernisation to bring it back to its former glory. Full of original features. Pretty courtyard to the rear of the property. Dated decor requiring attention throughout.’

‘Dated! I think they mean delapi-dated,’ said Tom, rubbing the stubble on his chin. It was a nervous habit he’d developed since recently establishing his own photographic business, The Wider Picture.

Nearby church bells chimed half past the hour as the estate agent fidgeted impatiently next to the front steps.

‘Do you still want to take a look?’ asked Rowan.

Tom pulled a face and shrugged. ‘We’re here, I suppose,’ he said, taking her hand and pulling her across the road.

I’d like to thank netgalley and the publishers for an arc in return for a review.

This is the second book by Sheryl Browne that I’ve read and she’s soon becoming one of my favourite authors.  Sheryl writes with such honesty and warmth you feel involved in the characters lives.  This story was just perfect.  It had times of poignancy and sadness; times of despair and heartache; times of love and lust; a time where the storyline gripped you so much that you couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.  It also had some wonderful whit and humour thrown in to balance out the sad times.  Yes, I fell in love with Andrea and David’s story.

It wasn’t your conventional journey to a new romance for mother of three Andrea and widowed parent David, who was still grieving for his wife and facing a challenging time with his distraught 10 year old son.  However, a terrible ordeal brought the two families abruptly together.  What follows is a wonderful story of two families overcoming traumatic ordeals and learning to help each other open their eyes and hearts and appreciate the smaller things in life and move on giving hope for the future.  5/5*

You can’t run away from commitment forever …

Adam Hamilton-Shaw has more reason than most to avoid commitment. Living on a houseboat in the Severn Valley, his dream is to sail into the sunset preferably with a woman waiting in every port. But lately, his life looks more like a road to destruction than an idyllic boat ride…

Would-be screenplay writer Sienna Meadows realises that everything about Adam spells trouble but she can’t ignore the feeling that there is more to him than just his bad reputation. Nor can she ignore the intense physical attraction that exists between them.

And it just so happens that Adam sees Sienna as the kind of woman he could commit to. But can he change his damaging behaviour or is the road to destruction a one-way street?

houseboat clipart

I’d like to thank the author, Sheryl Browne, for a copy of this novel in return for an honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read by Sheryl; it was utterly glorious and sexy, heart warming and romantic, very emotive with tension and plenty of drama.  I will certainly be checking out the other works written by Sheryl.

Adam Hamilton-Shaw is a serial womaniser and odd job man living on a houseboat in the Severn Valley.  He’s hoping to make enough money to repair his boat so he can set sail away from responsibilities and commitment.  However, the more we hear about Adam’s very troubled past we can appreciate why he’s been on such a destructive course.  Adam has experienced a truly awful event that has left his heart shattered.  His way of dealing with it was to run away, drink to try and forget and have many casual relationships.

Sienna Meadows has rented a cottage alongside the River Severn, a stone’s throw from Adam’s moored houseboat, with her friend Lauren.  Sienna is hoping this time away in a relaxing location will help her finish her screenplay.  Sienna’s first impression of Adam is not great, she realises he is a bad boy with his many female visitors to his boat but she can’t help but wonder if there’s more to him.  Their first interaction goes quite swimmingly (literally) and a mutual attraction is felt.

Can Sienna help Adam change his course of destruction and show him the route to a better life?  Can she help him with the ghosts of his past?  Will Sienna be enough for Adam to change his ways … for the rest of his life?

A story to help and give hope and to prove that appearances and first impressions can be deceiving.  5/5*

I’d like to share one of my favourite quotes from the book …

“Sienna scanned his eyes.  Haunted eyes, she saw immediately.  Eyes where a thousand dark shadows danced, those of a man who was more than scared, she realised her heart constricting for him.  He was terrified.”
