I am so pleased to be involved in the One Day Blog Blitz celebrating and promoting the launch of Primrose Park, Book 6 in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow.

Love Heart Lane is one of the most picturesque book locations in all of storyland. I love returning to this delightful village in Scotland and Primrose Park sees us re-visiting friends old and new.

Author Christie Barlow has written a winning formula with the Love Heart Lane series; the characters are written with great warmth and are easily relatable, we have a mix of personalities and ages, an abundance of animals and wildlife, feelgood factor and uplifting storylines through adversity but most of all there’s a strong sense of community spirit.

Each story in the series is centred around a different character so can be read as a standalone but I can wholeheartedly recommend reading the whole series in order to gain maximum enjoyment from this lovely series.

This is Molly’s story. Molly is a successful Vet who is happily single but is starting to feel broody with all her friends settled with a young family. Molly lives in the neighbouring village to Heartcross but was born in the village so grew up with the friends we’ve grown to love from the stories. An unexpected encounter with a handsome stranger sets Molly’s heart a flutter and after one magical night Molly’s heart and mind is full of this mystery man. However, it’s a few months on since this chance encounter and Molly is no further forward in finding out who he is until he turns up in Heartcross.

This second meeting with her mystery man doesn’t go quite to plan resulting in many emotional and physical challenges ahead for Molly. Molly needs the support of her friends more than ever.

I really enjoyed reading Primrose Park it left me feeling contented with it’s underlying storyline focusing on friendship, new beginnings and community spirit. The introduction of new characters slotted straight into the lovely bunch of residents and I am so looking forward to learning more about Molly and what lies ahead in future stories.

Christie Barlow writes with love and warmth and this comes through every page of her books.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting Book 5 in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow.

It’s hard not to have a ‘favourite book series’ but I’ll let you in on a secret the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow is one of my favourites. The Lake House is book 5 in the popular romance series set in Scotland and although each story is centred around a different character I would highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order. You will then appreciate the idyllic setting, the wonderful community spirit and you will learn of the back history surrounding well loved characters and also they are just wonderful stories.

We have had a little glimpse of The Lake House and the dream of the owner Flynn’s thoughts for this iconic building along the River Heart in book four. The restaurant has been fully refurbished and has been re-opened a little while now but it’s still finding it’s feet on the hospitality map of the area.

We meet Ella who has just moved in with her best friend Callie and is due to start work at the restaurant. Ella has experienced a very tumultuous year resulting in much heartbreak, loss and anguish. Moving to Scotland is the new start she needs to pick herself up from the events that nearly broke her.

Ella didn’t expect her move to include the blossoming of new friendships with a local singing starlet and a handsome man. A man who she feels hides vulnerability and sadness behind his charming persona.

With the Lake House in need of a much needed boost all the staff get together to try and figure out how they can improve custom. It takes a newcomer with fresh eyes to highlight that what they need to promote is staring at them all around the walls of the iconic building.

Another gorgeous feelgood story oozing with community spirit, friendship, new hope and new beginnings. I think Ella and Roman are perfect additions for the community of Heartcross and I always feel most welcomed each time I join them.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Christie Barlow’s latest novel: Starcross Manor.

Christie Barlow’s writing has once again captured my heart with Starcross Manor.  Starcross Manor is book four in the Love Heart Lane series.  Although each novel can be read as a standalone story I would highly recommend reading the books in the series in order to appreciate the history of the characters, the setting and the ambiance of the community of Heartcross.  The books in the series are:

  1. Love Heart Lane
  2. Foxglove Farm
  3. Clover Cottage
  4. Starcross Manor
  5. The Lake House (due later this year)

The Love Heart Lane series is set in the most idyllic of locations in a small village in the Scottish Highlands.  A village that holds the community within it’s heart and it’s success is borne by each and every one of the small independent businesses pulling together helping each other.  Although the village sounds idyllic the lives of the villagers are full of realistic problems and situations that are relatable.  The characters are written with such warmth that you instantly fall in love with, even the likeable rogues.  Each story in the series is centred around a different character and business but Starcross Manor has two businesses as it’s focus; the main one is Julia’s B & B that has been established five years now and is doing very well with the tourists flocking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area, the other business is Starcross Manor which has recently been bought and in the process of renovating by a newcomer, hot shot entreprenuer Flynn Carter.

When Julia bumps into the new owner of Starcross Manor she is shocked to discover that someone from her past has turned up in the village and looks like he is here to stay.  There’s a lot of bad feeling between Julia and Flynn but it appears that Flynn can’t recall all the hurt that he once caused.  The villagers soon become unsettled with this high flying businessman in their midst and they fear for their livelihood.  However, when an emergency ensues within the village fears are put on hold and the strength of the community pull together with a surprising benefactor to the cause.

Starcross Manor is another gorgeous instalment in the bestselling series Love Heart Lane.  It’s a series that you just want to keep going and going and as each story emerges you once again escape into the lives of the villagers of Heartcross and leave a tiny bit of your heart in the Scottish Highlands.  A story that sparkles with fun, friendship, hopefulness and blossoming romance.

Author Bio – Christie Barlow is the number 1 International bestselling author of ten bestsellers including A Home at Honeysuckle Farm, Love Heart Lane and Clover Cottage. I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Clover Cottage; Book 3 in the Love Heart Lane series written by Christie Barlow.

Returning to Love Heart Lane and discovering Clover Cottage was such a much needed treat of a read.  I still can’t believe that the Love Heart Lane series is my first introduction to the works of Christie Barlow as she has now become a must read for #feelgoodfiction.

Clover Cottage is Book 3 in the Love Heart Lane series, the book can be read as a standalone but as the characters grow and progress from each novel I would highly recommend reading all the books in order to fully appreciate the setting and characters.  The books in order are:

  • Love Heart Lane (you can find my review here)
  • Foxglove Farm (you can find my review here)
  • Clover Cottage

Clover Cottage is Allie and Rory’s story and as per the author’s writing style there are many emotional obstacles that the characters have to endure to find their happy ever after.

Rory is the local vet and has been working in partnership with his father for a while now but he is starting to feel a little held back at work.  Rory wants to expand the business but his dad is adamant that the practice is fine as it is, so when his parents give him a surprise gift he feels like his life has been planned out stage by stage in front of him and he freaks as he visions a brief glimpse into a life that he feels will remain stagnant.  Allie is totally shocked by Rory’s reaction and starts to wonder is this the end for their relationship?

When a TV celebrity visits the village temptation is put in Rory’s grasp to travel and work overseas.  Also, opportunities for Allie become available opening up dreams that she felt she couldn’t or didn’t want to pursue.

Both Rory and Allie have a lot to think about regarding their dreams for a more fulfilling career but alas sadly another obstacle is thrown in Rory’s direction and one that needs addressing urgently.  Can Rory and Allie make decisions for their careers and private lives that work harmoniously together?

Clover Cottage is another wonderful story set in the Scottish Highlands in a community that instantly makes you feel welcomed and at home.  I fell in love with Love Heart Lane back in January 2019 and I still have pangs of wanting to live in a cosy cottage surrounded by the Scottish hills, wildlife and fauna.  Christie Barlow has written a gorgeous romantic series with characters that are filled with warmth, humour but are still very real and relatable.  I do hope we can have a return to Heartcross and Love Heart Lane sometime in the future, please 🙂

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Christie Barlow’s latest novel:  Foxglove Farm.

I’m a relative newcomer to Christie Barlow’s writing with Foxglove Farm being the  2nd book that I’ve read by her.  There are so many great authors to discover and Christie Barlow is one that has firmly shot to my favourites list … I can’t wait to binge read all her back catalogue!  Her writing style flows effortlessly with relatable characters written with warmth.  The settings in her novels are described as idyllic and full of community spirit and as a reader you soon start to feel included in the neighbourhood.  The stories behind the characters are real and heartfelt and you start to champion them.

Foxglove Farm is a return to the village of Heartcross and Love Heart Lane which we visited back in January.  You can find my review for book one in the series here.  Foxglove Farm can be read as a standalone story but to fully appreciate all the characters, the setting and the whole ambience I would highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order, which are:

  • Love Heart Lane
  • Foxglove Farm

Foxglove Farm is Isla and Drew’s story; after recently giving birth to her second child life on the farm is busier than ever for the young couple but trouble is brewing when Drew starts to display unusual mood swings.  Isla is confused about Drew’s sudden change and starts to worry for her family’s future.  When tragedy strikes Isla has to rely on the good nature of her family and friends to keep her home and livelihood in business.

Once again the warmth from the characters that Christie Barlow has created shines through and you feel welcomed into their lives.  I particularly liked how the author dealt with a sensitive subject with grace and empathy.  This area the author has touched on is hardly spoken about and has almost felt like a taboo subject for a long time  but slowly the world is opening it’s eyes to an issue that is quite commonly felt.

Foxglove Farm is a lovely heart-warming story that will make you fall in love with the village of Heartcross even more, especially now that it has some new additions with added cute factor 🙂

Welcome to Love Heart Lane…
When Flick Simons returns to the small village of Heartcross she only expected to stay for a few days. The white-washed cottages of Love Heart Lane might be her home, but the place holds too many painful memories, and of one man in particular – Fergus Campbell.
When a winter storm sweeps in, the only bridge connecting the village to the main land is swept away! As the villagers pull together, Flick finds herself welcomed back by the friends she once left behind. And as the snow begins to melt, maybe there is a chance that Fergus’s heart will thaw too…

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Christie Barlow’s latest novel: Love Heart Lane.

Yay, I’ve finally read one of Christie Barlow’s stories. I’ve read so many great reviews of Christie’s books and I have purchased books following these reviews but I’ve not had the chance yet to read. However, I think I’ve started with a good one! Love Heart Lane was just perfect, it gave me cosy feels but it had so much depth to the story and characters. I didn’t want the story to end as I felt like I’d moved in to this Scottish Highlands village and that the characters were my friends. I’m now feeling bereft but excited and chuffed to learn that there will be more from Christie Barlow and the villagers we’ve grown to love with another story in the series due in the summer.

Felicity (Flick) Simons has been living and working in London for the last eight years after fleeing her home, friends and loved ones back in the Scottish Highlands village, Heartcross. The reason Flick fled was so tragic and very personal and at the time Flick felt like she had no option but to leave. It’s taken the death of her dear Grandmother for Flick to make the trip back up north and face the repercussions of her actions of eight years ago. Flick’s mother, Rona, is thrilled to have her daughter back home even under the saddest of circumstances but not everyone in the village welcome her back with open arms.

Fergus Campbell was Flick’s childhood sweetheart and when Flick upped and left eight years ago she crushed his heart and also their dreams of a future together. Now after so long Fergus is non too pleased to see Flick back in the village and the pain from long ago is still quite raw.

This is a story of friendship, of a community pulling together and of a love that suffered many scars but held on to a flicker of a flame that would never lose it’s glow. I devoured this story and wanted more.

If you can’t wait for book two in the series it is now available to pre-order: https://amzn.to/2AW6Gs8
