I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Jane Linfoot’s latest novel: Love at the Little Wedding Shop by the Sea.

Love at the Little Wedding Shop by the Sea is Book 5 in the Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series written by Jane Linfoot. I wholeheartedly recommend reading all the books in the series in order as its a gorgeous, uplifting set of stories. Every time I pick up and read a new book in this series I think it’s the best one yet and yet again Jane Linfoot has written her best story yet (in my humble opinion) with Love at the Little Wedding Shop by the Sea. I galloped through this book as I was desperate to know what hurdle lovely Milla was going to face next and as the end of the story was approaching I wanted to slow down and savour every last word as it was just perfect!

This is Milla’s story; a close childhood friend of the girls from the wedding shop who moved to Bristol five years ago when her mum sadly passed away. Milla has escaped Bristol after a very eventful year when her heart was left in pieces and her working life is also in a precarious position. Milla is going to work with the girls at the wedding shop to give her heart and mind chance to recover. However, what Milla didn’t have in mind was for her heart to be jolted awake by local yachtsman Nic. With her new role she is left working closely with Nic and her heart refuses to calm down whilst he is around.

Can Milla’s heart cope with anymore complications?

This is a story that’s filled with light hearted humour, great banter between old and new friends, nostalgia, warmth and a campervan full of the type of romance that makes your heart sing!!!

Author Bio – I write fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines, and lots of heart. Writing is fab, because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I live in a cottage up a mountain road in Derbyshire, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos. Happily, we’re in walking distance of a supermarket. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things french. When I’m not on facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, I’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Jane Linfoot’s latest novel: A Cosy Christmas in Cornwall.

Jane Linfoot has a great recipe for success for gorgeous feelgood romcoms all set in idyllic settings.  A Cosy Christmas in Cornwall is a wonderful romp of a read set just on the outskirts of the lovely fictional coastal village of St Aidan.  It is centred around friends and their families getting away from everyday life and having the perfect insta-worthy Christmas in Cornwall.

Ivy Starforth has agreed to tag along with her friends Libby and Fliss with their extended family to a Christmas getaway in Cornwall.  Libby is an insta-influencer and Ivy is the perfect partner to make this festive holiday ‘gram perfect’!  However, when Ivy arrives at their holiday let a few days early on her own to prepare she is a little shocked to see how different the property looks from their ‘google image’ search.  Ivy is also shocked to learn she knows the caretaker of the refurbished castle; a man she met six years ago and has never quite forgotten him.

Once Ivy gets over the double shock of the minimalist interiors of the castle and of seeing Bill again she enlist his help in turning a cold looking castle into a warm, cosy induced castle that oozes festive vibes.

Bill is not feeling very festive as Christmas hits a vulnerable spot for him but knows he has to turn this castle into the holiday tenant’s dream posts or he’s going to have a mutiny on his hands.

Once the hoard of guests arrive we are met with a myriad of characters all with their own personality quirks.  There’s plenty of festive, fun and frolics and heartfelt inspiring moments with this gorgeous romcom.  I loved it all and didn’t want it to end, I hope Jane Linfoot returns to the characters we’ve discovered at the castle in a future new story.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Jane Linfoot’s latest novel: Edie Browne’s Cottage by the Sea.

Oh Edie Browne, with an e, you endeared me, you charmed me, you inspired me and I totally and utterly fell in love with you.

Edie Browne’s Cottage by the Sea on the outside looks like a beautiful feel-good story but on the inside it is so, so much more. Edie is a young successful designer working for a building company in Bath, her romance has failed but she’s feeling positive about that and decides to make a gigantic statement with her new singledom. However, life was to deal Edie another blow, a completely life-changing event and Edie needed time away from home to recuperate and learn going right back to basics again. Staying with her Aunt Josie at her cottage in a village off the Cornish coast was the perfect place to relax and let the body and mind heal.

However, moving to St Aidan wasn’t just moving in with her Aunt as the residents of this idyllic village knew when a friend or two needed help and even though Edie was a temporary resident it didn’t matter and she was warmly welcomed into the love and support network. The residents of St Aidan are a glorious group of people that are carefree, fun, spontaneous and have huge hearts. One of these residents is Barney who after becoming guardian of a little boy, Cam, his life brought on new challenges but his friends and neighbours help tremendously but when Cam befriends Edie, Barney is surprised at how easy Cam has learned to trust this newcomer. The partnership of little Cam and Edie was a brilliant move by author Jane Linfoot as due to Edie’s new circumstances Cam and Edie were very similar and I think Cam found a kinship in Edie.

Jane Linfoot has created a brilliant story with Edie Browne’s Cottage by the Sea I laughed uncontrollably so often with Edie’s little events and I cheered with all her achievements. My heart ached for what life had thrown her but Edie was embracing new challenges with gusto and I adored her for this.

I will not forget Edie Browne for a long time she was a joyous character, I didn’t want her journey to end, there’s no “love you, goodbye” with Edie Browne there’s ‘love you and thank you for being you’.

It’s time to come home to Cornwall
With an exiting new life in Paris, Clemmie Hamilton isn’t looking forward to heading home to the picturesque but sleepy village of St Aidan, Cornwall. However, when she discovers that the cosy apartment by the sea, which her grandmother left to her, is under threat from neighbour and property developer, Charlie Hobson, Clemmie realises she can’t abandon her home in its time of need.
With her childhood friends encouraging her, Clemmie decides to turn the apartment into ‘The Little Cornish Kitchen’ – a boutique pop up pudding club raising money for the repairs to the building in an effort to stop Charlie once and for all. But when Charlie and his easy charm won’t seem to go away, everything soon becomes even messier than the state of Clemmie’s Cornish kitchen…

This was such a delicious read that I greedily devoured.  I’ve loved Jane Linfoot’s The Little Wedding Shop series and I didn’t think the author could top this series but I think this new nugget of loveliness may be the best part of any dessert stand 🙂

We are back in the idyllic Cornish coastal village of St Aidan’s and have four new friends to discover along with a whole host of sub-characters and especially a handsome, brooding man who comes with a loyal dog and a disloyal cat … and he can also bake!!!

When Clemmie Hamilton returns to her home town of St Aidan’s to visit her late grandmother’s apartment that has been left to her Clemmie is feeling a little apprehensive.  Clemmie’s current life is living and working in the city of Paris so St Aidan has a very different vibe to the very chic and bustling city.  One thing St Aidan’s has that Paris doesn’t is her lifelong friends Sophie, Nell and Plum.  The girls have been friends since childhood and have shared many highs and lows together.  Clemmie doesn’t think she could live full-time in St Aidan’s but when she opens the door to her late Gran’s apartment that has a stunning sea view location nostalgic feelings come flooding back and Clemmie is filled with warmth and joy.  Bit by bit each item of crockery and piece of furniture is giving Clemmie such wonderful memories that she is starting to feel a pull to the place.

When Clemmie literally bumps into her neighbour Charlie, Diesel his dog and Pancake the cat, that pull is becoming stronger as new feelings emerge.  As equally handsome that Charlie is he holds a grumpiness to his character and is quite aloof.  However, underneath it all there is a sadness within Charlie that St Aidan’s and his dog and the beautiful, tranquil settings of the apartments can only bring warmth back to his heart.  But meeting his new neighbour Clemmie has startled his heart and has kickstarted it beating again.

The Little Cornish Kitchen is a gorgeous feel-good summery read that will have you salivating over the delicious delights that Clemmie produces and you’ll be swooning over a love story were the pets have no worries or qualms about declaring their true feelings.

What will the season bring, in this enchanting fourth book of ‘The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea’ series?

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this novel.  All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop is the fourth book in The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series.  Each book can be enjoyed as a standalone but to fully appreciate the back history I would whole heartedly recommend reading all books in the series.  The books in the series are:

  • The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea
  • Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop
  • Summer at the Little Wedding Shop
  • Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop

I have been totally captivated and swept away by this contemporary romcom series by author Jane Linfoot.  The setting of a book series around a wedding shop located on the Cornish coast with it’s rugged and stunning vista ever changing with the seasons is so idyllic.  Readers are treated each time they open up any of the books in this series to a cast of warm hearted characters with female leads you want to be best friends with and I’m sure as each book is published the male leads get more adorable.

This story focuses on Holly who is returning to her hometown for the festive period to take photos for her friend’s wedding, which so happens to be taking place on the very beach besides the wedding shop.  Since fleeing from her surprise proposal almost a year ago Holly has been determined to avoid Christmas at all costs to help her get over her break-up from Luc.  However, as she promised to help at her friend’s wedding she has no choice and feels that she can just about manage with one wedding at Christmas.  However, St Aidan and The Wedding Shop are gearing up for a festive period filled with fun, love and lots of weddings.  The Wedding Shop’s regular photographer Jules has unfortunately had to pull out of taking the photos for the forthcoming Christmas weddings.  Emergency reinforcements are needed and the Wedding Shop team look to Holly to help out.  Holly’s self-esteem since the break-up is very low however, she has the help of local beer and wine merchant Rory on hand to help.  Rory also so happens to be her nemesis.  They connected when they were at school, very often Rory would tease Holly but secretly she enjoyed his companionship.

Both Holly and Rory have suffered heartache as a child.  However, Rory was very clever to hide his true emotions and he came across as the village rebel.  When you first read about Rory you can’t help but fall for his cheeky charm but when you see his true persona emerge there is a little vulnerability about him.  The introduction of two of the cutest characters, Gracie and Teddie, also help bring out more layers in Rory’s characters.  There are definitely some gorgeous ahhh moments.

Can two people with a shared mutual affinity of a loss still so sorely felt help each other to find the strength in themselves to tackle their fears?

Another beautiful, charming romance from Jane Linfoot.

The third book in the bestselling series, ‘The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea’.

When the owner of Brides by the Sea, Cornwall’s cutest little wedding shop, offers Lily a job as their new wedding stylist, her first thought is – can she possibly pull it off?

Before she’s even sourced a fairy light or tasted a cupcake, Kip Penryn hires her services – but he’s opened an exclusive wedding venue in direct competition to her friend Poppy!

Lily feels like a traitor working for Kip, only everyone knows Penryn men are gorgeous but unreliable. All she has to do is sit back and watch him mess it up…doesn’t she?

Love is in the Cornish sea breeze this summer as the girls tackle their busiest wedding season yet. There’s plenty of bunting, bubbly and baking – but who is going to catch the bouquet?

sweet pea bouquet

This is the third and final book in The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series.  Each book can be read as a standalone but to fully appreciate all the characters and the storyline setting I would recommend reading them all in order as follows:

  • The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea (you can find my review here)
  • Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop (you can find my review here)
  • Summer at the Little Wedding Shop

Jane Linfoot has created the most delightful and delicious book series.  I have simply fallen in love with the characters in each story and have drooled over the delicious sounding cakes that Poppy makes.  The stories leave you with a warm glow of happiness, hope and belief.  You want to grab the creativity, spark, charisma and love from each individual character and bottle it up to be released when you are in need of book comfort.

This story focuses on Lily, whose left with no self-confidence and her belief in marriage is non-existent following her failed marriage.  However, she’s returned to the Brides by the Sea shop in St Aiden’s Bay, Cornwall, her former workplace as a florist, to attend the wedding of one of her friends and former colleagues.

Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day with loved up couples proposing live on air on the local radio station.  Lily gets a shock when she listens to one of the happy couples; her own mother has just been proposed to!  Lily is furious and upset, her father died years ago but she is still devastated to hear her mother is moving on.

Lily loves being back with her friends at the wedding and her own woes of being single and now jobless are pushed to the back of her mind.  Lily soon catches the attention of two men; Fred a local builder and Kip one of the Penryn boys who she remembers from her childhood when the Penryn brothers spent each summer at their uncles’s mansion.  The Penryns were known as bad boys, unreliable with love them and leave them attitudes.  Kip was now living at his uncle’s mansion turning it into a wedding venue in direct opposition to her best friend Poppy’s venue of weddings at the farm with Rafe.

Lily if offered work as a stylist at the bridal emporium and she is soon in demand with weddings planned at both local venues.  With wedding wars amongst the brides to be and venue proprietors life gets a little complicated for Lily as she’s left working for both teams.  With mishaps and major bridezilla demands Lily and the girls at Brides by the Sea have just a few months to prepare and organise weddings for the summer season including their friend Immie and Lily’s mother.

This was such a gorgeously fun story.  I’d highly recommend this book series for all that love heart warming stories with lots of love and laughter.  The whole series read back to back would be a fantastic holiday treat.

Unless the bride is her big sister Alice of course. Saying that the two sisters don’t always see eye to eye is an understatement. Alice hasn’t even asked Sera to design her wedding dress. But when an absent groom and ill-fitting dress threaten to ruin Alice’s happiness let alone her big day, Sera’s determined to give her sister the winter wedding of her dreams – even if that means keeping not one but two irresistibly gorgeous best men under control…

Is Sera going to end up being the maid of dishonour…Or will repairing her frozen relationship with Alice be the icing on the wedding cake?

There’s sequins, snowflakes, and plenty of romance in this gorgeous love story. The perfect romance to curl up by the fire with this Christmas! Perfect for fans of Carole Matthews and Milly Johnson.

snowflake-swirl-clipart

I’d like to thank the author, Jane Linfoot, her publishers and netgalley for an arc in return for a review.

This was the perfect feelgood winter warmer of a read.  I totally and utterly fell in love with this story.

Christmas at The Little Wedding Shop is the second story in The Little Wedding Shop series.  The books can be read as standalone but to appreciate and totally absorb yourself in the characters and location I advise you to read all the books in the series in chronological order.

I’m still fairly new to Jane Linfoot’s writing but after reading book 1 (The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea: Cupcakes and Confetti), you can find my review here, I have been overwhelmed by her writing style.  Her characters are so relatable and you can’t help fall in love with each one with their different quirks and charms.  She also makes the perfect book boyfriends and sometimes there are too many in a book so you are left feeling greedy with admiration!  The setting Jane has devised for her series is so wonderful, a 3 storey wedding shop on the sea front of a Cornish village.  It’s just so idyllic with it’s natural beauty and you certainly feel this from Jane’s descriptions.

This is Sera’s story.  Sera is the very shy but immensely talented wedding dress designer that was taken under the wing of the owner of Brides by the Sea, Jess.  Sera reminds me of a little Cornish pixie, she’s tiny, cute, very creative and lives in shorts and ankle books whatever the weather.  It’s the middle of December and Sera is starting to feel anxious for her sister Alice’s upcoming nuptials.  Alice is having her dream wedding at a gorgeous mansion in rural Cornwall, not far from Sera’s home and workplace on the coast.  Alice lives in London and has given Sera the task of finalising the wedding plans.  Alice is uber organised and has armed her sister Sera and whoever else is involved with the wedding with a huge wedding planner folder.  Alice’s latest instruction to Sera is to meet up with the best man and coordinate with each other the final points for this perfect wedding.

As you can imagine all does not go to plan for Sera and the best men, yes there are two of them!  Things get cancelled at last minute, errors of judgment are made and the two best men are acting like school boys vying for Sera’s attention.  A blast from the past also causes further heart ache for  Sera.

This story is such a delightful, fun, romantic story that leaves you with warm, fuzzy feelings with a hint of sparkle.  5/5*

I’m eagerly awaiting book 3 in the series and feeling very impatient!!!

Nearly forgot … Jane has so generously shared some delicious sounding recipes for winter warming cocktails and cakes to make your mouth water at the end of the novel!

I’ve been wanting to read this book since the end of April, when I purchased the ebook.  However, life and pre-planned reviews held up my reading schedule.  But what a delight it was and well worth the wait.  I also think it made the perfect summer holiday read and as it’s been recently published in paperback format you can easily pick it up with your weekly grocery shopping from Sainsburys!

This is the first book I’ve read by Jane Linoot and I don’t know how I’ve overlooked her novels?  Cupcakes & Confetti is Jane’s 5th book and is the first book in a new series called The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea.  The full list of all the books in the series is:

  • The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea: Cupcakes & Confetti
  • Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop: Sequins and Snowflakes
  • The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea: Buntings & Bouquets

This was such a wonderful, delicious read with all the attributes required for a great romcom:

  • a beautiful location – Cornwall (tick)
  • cakes, lots of them (tick)

I could go on …

I love a foodie fiction novel but this story had much more than cakes, although I have to say the cakes Poppy created sounded mouth-wateringly good.

Poppy was nursing a broken heart when we first come upon her living in the attic room of The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea.  Her friend Jess, owner of the shop, was so kind to let Jess stay in the flat above her shop.  Although, Poppy being at the flat was a double bonus as she could help out in the shop and as Poppy bakes cakes, specifically wedding cakes, she could pick up business from the brides to be.

When the local farm/wedding venue loses it’s Wedding Co-ordinator planned weddings for brides to be in the area are in jeopardy including Poppy’s best friend Cate.  Cate insists Poppy helps out and take over co-ordinating the weddings at the farm.  Poppy agrees to take on the role at the farm and manages to combine it with her cake making and helping out at the shop.  However, she doesn’t anticipate the frosty reception from farmer (and now boss) Rafe.

We follow Poppy, with the help of her friends, planning weddings at the idyllic farm location over the next few months leading up to Cate’s wedding.  The months working at the farm are quite enlightening, frustrating, comical at times but quite rewarding.  Poppy’s life is slowly starting to look positive after a relationship that stripped her self-esteem.

Such a lovely, charming read.  I loved how the chapters were titled with a catchphrase from the events of each chapter.  It was a comfortable flowing story with chapters rolling nicely into each other.  A gorgeous story filled with enough sweetness and romance to make your heart dance 5/5*
