I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

Unlaced by the Highland Duke is Book 2 in The Lochmore Legacy series.  The Lochmore Legacy is a series of four stories set in different historical eras around a castle in the Scottish highlands and a feud between rival clans.  Each story is written by a different historical romance author and Unlaced by the Highland Duke is written by Lara Temple.  Each story in the series can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading all the books in the series to gain full enjoyment and appreciation of this gorgeous historical romance series.  You can catch up with my review of Book One here.

Unlaced by the Highland Duke is the story of Duke of Lochmore, Benneit, who is trying to forge a partnership and also help soften the feud with fellow Scotman McCleish.  Since the death of his wife Bella, the Duke has focused all his energies on his four year old son Jamie.  Benneit hopes to secure a future for Jamie so a partnership is essential.  Hiring his late wife’s cousin, Joane (Jo) to help look after Jamie until he marries brings many confused emotions to Benneit and Jo’s minds.

Jo is a widower herself and her first impressions of Benneit six years ago was of an aloof gentleman.  However, now she sees him with his son she can see a softer, almost vulnerable side to him.  Benneit is fiercely protection of his son Jamie and he also has a strong relationship with his help at the castle.  Jo has a wonderful way with children and she soon develops a lovely, warm, trusting relationship with Jamie and Jamie soon begins to show his love and loyalty to her.  Jo is a young woman with so much love, vibrancy and imagination and appears to know just how to appease this young boy who is feeling a little lost at the moment.

Lara Temple has written a gorgeous historical romance that is so charming and beautiful and then has an addictive, sensual side to the storyline.  With the stunning, rugged backdrop of the Scottish highlands The Lochmore Legacy continues to enthral me with it’s mystery, legends and beguiling romances.

The authors involved in The Lochmore Legacy have set up a facebook page all about the series so please pop on over and join in with the historical romance chat:

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Lara Temple’s latest novel: The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge.

Ohh this was such a treat of a read, a new series from one of the current greats in Regency Romance, Lara Temple.  The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge is book one in The Sinful Sinclair’s series and is the story of Lord Lucas Sinclair, the eldest of the Sinclair children.

The Sinclair’s have a well known reputation amongst the ‘ton’, however it’s a reputation that was earned by their grandfather but now all Sinclair’s have been tarnished with the same brush.  When Lucas was summoned by a young woman from Yorkshire of details of a wrong doing he felt exasperated and thought the plight by Miss Olivia Silverdale was nothing but a ‘wild-goose chase’.  But his interest peaked slightly by this rather unusual young lady who was very sure of her story and was hellbent on finding the truth.

I felt the story held a little dark atmosphere during the opening chapters with the mystery unfolding and the quest to unearth the truth.  What Olivia and Lucas hadn’t expected was the building chemistry between them.  However, they were both very wary of their feelings and Lucas was almost aghast to his ‘mawkish’ feelings.

Lara Temple has created a great Regency romp filled with atmosphere from the intensity of the challenge and also the emotional wars bubbling on the surface.  Olivia and Lucas were a great crime busting duo.  I loved it all and felt myself swooning for this Sinclair.  I’m so looking forward to more from The Sinful Sinclair’s.

I particularly enjoyed this quote from the novel:

“The girl was as mistrustful as he, and just as scared of feeling.  She would not love easily, but when she did …”

Lord Ravenscar Full Banner

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Lara Temple’s second book in the Wild Lords and Innocent Ladies series.

Each book in the Wild Lords and Innocent Ladies series I believe can be read as a standalone but to be honest you’d be missing out on a delicious treat of a read if you don’t get the chance to read about all the Wild Lords!

Alan Rothwell, Lord Ravenscar, is a tall, dark, handsome moody rake and one third of the Wild Lords who are part of the Wild Hunt Club with a reputation known throughout the land and society.  However, Alan Rothwell has a kindness to him especially with his work around the Hope House, a refuge home for war veterans.  He also hides a vulnerability about him which comes with a sadness and guilt surrounding tragedies in his past.

Lily Wallace is now a wealthy heiress following the death of her cousin who bequeathed her the property of Hollywell House.  A house that Alan Rothwell has set his sights on buying for the use of Hope House.

When Alan and Lily first meet sparks certainly fly but a different emotion is soon felt between them.  However, Lily is almost promised to another but now her heart and mind is becoming confused with this rather arrogant gentleman who has unsettled her.

Lily has also suffered with tragedies in her past and Hollywell House at the moment is giving her an escape and a time to reflect on her future.

This was another glorious regency romp from Lara Temple filled with heat and emotion and a love that surprises the recipients.

I’d like to share one of my favourite quotes from the novel:

That kiss had been a curse, a snatching of her soul and will – right now she could not imagine anyone kissing her again but him.

Lord Hunter’s Cinderella Heiress is the first book in a new series by Lara Temple.  After reading this first novel in the series I am already eager to read the other stories in the Wild Lords and Innocent Ladies trilogy.

Lara Temple has taken me to an era where women were courted and often seen swooning upon the men in their sights.  With the fluttering of eyes behind fans and the gentle blushes bestowed upon their delicate cheeks the women had a great part to play in this game of match-making and when the young lady in question was a wealthy heiress then her popularity grew making her prey for unscrupulous rogues.

Young Nell Tilney first met Lord Hunter four years ago when she was 17 years old.  She remembered he had a sadness about him but she could tell he loved horses from the way he acted around the family’s horses.  Four years on from that day when Nell was left feeling hurt by the constant bullying from her aunt and father she is now a different young woman.  Nell has grown in confidence within herself and has been enjoying her work teaching at a local school.  However, learning from the papers that she is engaged to Lord Hunter she immediately pays him a visit to find out exactly what is happening.  If Nell is bestowed to Lord Hunter she then cannot win her heart’s desire of the hand of Charles Welbeck, whom she has been in love with since she was a child.

Although confident in herself Nell is still very shy amongst men, especially Lord Hunter who’s rake-ish reputation bestows him.  A pact is made between Nell and Lord Hunter, he will guide her in her quest to woo Charles Welbeck with some gentle flirtation.  However, the more time the unlikely couple  spend together the more they both start to realise a connection between them is growing.

Lord Hunter with his dark, handsome features and his rake-ish personality leaves many ladies swooning with desire.  However, Hunter has a vulnerability and sadness behind his suave, delicious exterior.

As Nell and Hunter start playing a delicate dance of love the game soon starts to become dangerous with heated exchanges soon confusing both Nell and Hunter’s feelings.

A gorgeous, sexy, regency romp that will leave you with want for more from the Wild Lords …

From country miss…to London duchess!

Sophie Trevelyan has been enjoying her visit to London, even if her closest companion is an overweight pug! Then she encounters the dashing Duke of Harcourt, who intrigues her more than is strictly proper…

Max knows he must marry. He’s looking for the opposite of his high-spirited fiancée, who died some years ago, so he tries to keep his distance from bubbly Sophie. But when her life is endangered, Max feels compelled to rescue her…with a very unexpected proposal!

pug

This was my first introduction to the words of Lara Temple and it was such a treat.  A ravishing Regency romp with wonderful charm, characters, gripping dramatic storyline, a history that was tied to 3 men that left each one damaged, a sensual desirable coupling with so much chemistry they can’t help but be drawn to each other and not forgetting a podgy, stubborn little dog called Marmaduke.

Sophie Trevelyan was staying at her Aunt’s house in London.  Her country ways from her home in Devon wasn’t enough to prepare her for society in London but Sophie held a compassion in her heart and her openness with people soon charmed them.  Sophie’s first hurdle though was to try and gain trust in her Aunt’s favourite pet, a podgy little pug that was stubborn and lazy called Marmaduke.

I loved how the author, Lara Temple, fitted this wonderful furry friend in this story.  Marmaduke’s personality in a way reflected in Max’s (Duke of Harcourt).

When Sophie met Max she was astonished with him and was left almost speechless with his supreme statuesque handsome features.  One of my favourite quotes by Lara was about Max with Sophie stating he was

so unfairly male

A friendship of sorts blossomed between the pair but Sophie was so different to the ladies that were paraded in front of him with the hope of becoming his Duchess.

The storyline held a darkness within it and a stunning seductress had three men at her beck and call but her greed was to be her downfall.  Years later these men were still beholden to this temptress and walls were built around their heart and soul.  It had to be a special woman to break down the wall that Max had built around himself.  However, Sophie’s life became in peril bringing a whole new twist to the darkness that has surrounded these three men.

A very delectable romance that oozed chemistry with class 5/5*
