I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting Book 4 in The Cockleberry Bay series. I would highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order as you can then fully appreciate the history of the characters and storyline. Also, the books are just fab! The books in the series in order are:

The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay

Meet Me in Cockleberry Bay

The Gift of Cockleberry Bay

Christmas in Cockleberry Bay

I don’t think I will ever tire of reading about Rosa and her friends in Cockleberry Bay. Nicola May has written another fun, flirty, festive and fabulous instalment in the Cockleberry Bay series.

Life for Rosa never runs smoothly but she takes it in her stride and in true Rosa fashion she deals with it. Rosa’s life is hectic as usual with a young baby, two businesses, a charity to promote and all whilst her beloved husband is working overseas.

Cockleberry Bay is full of preparations for the autumn and winter festivities that lay ahead and the two pubs are up for a Seaside Rosette award so it’s all exciting but anxious times for all involved. Rosa’s family life has expanded with a new baby and finding her long lost father and step-brother, she feels like all her blessings have been granted. However, as much as it’s wonderful having family around her it does take some getting use to.

Author Nicola May has introduced some great new characters to the bay that have slotted in perfectly bringing together a story that is so very likeable. It’s warm-hearted and lovable but also not without sensitivity and emotion. Chaos never seems far away from the seaside town but the community stick together and help each other with a few chuckles along the way.

I loved Christmas in Cockleberry Bay and hope there’s more to come. Rosa and her ever growing gang warm my heart and I always feel welcomed when I return to Cockleberry Bay.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Nicola May’s latest novel: The Gift of Cockleberry Bay.

It feels kind of sad that we’ve come to the final part in The Cockleberry Bay trilogy but I do feel like this finale has come at the right time during these days of uncertainty as Rosa is such a joyous character.  Nicola May has written such a fun, cheeky, magical, realistic series that I’ve fallen in love with.  I do highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order as the characters lives do continue on from each story.  The books in the series in order are:

  • The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay
  • Meet Me in Cockleberry Bay
  • The Gift of Cockleberry Bay

Rosa has been happily married now for a few months, she’s the owner of the pet shop at Cockleberry Bay and is now joint owners of Rosa’s Café on the seafront.  Rosa inherited the little shop from her late grandfather and there is a proviso in his will stating that Rosa couldn’t sell the shop but could pass it onto someone worthy of it.  Rosa now feels it’s time to think about passing the shop on and she devises a brilliant competition with the winner being announced on Christmas Eve.

With old and new faces reappearing in Rosa’s life causing all sorts of mayhem and emotional heartache can this gift of Cockleberry Bay bring someone’s dream come true?

As always with such a fun loving character in Rosa life doesn’t go to plan but it’s to be expected now that we experience lots of bumps in the road for this delightful woman.  A brilliant, joyous read that will have you animated with glee!

I do hope the author, Nicola May, will treat her readers to a return to Cockleberry Bay in the future.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour for Nicola May’s latest novel: Meet Me in Cockleberry Bay.

I really enjoyed my trip back to Cockleberry Bay, I’d forgotten how much fun Rosa was.  You can find my review for book one in the series here.  I’d highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order to fully appreciate the back story behind the characters and the setting as book two does follow on with the characters journey.

Life has moved on for Rosa she’s now happily married and her little Corner Shop is doing well however, Rosa’s insecurities and vulnerability in her past rears itself again bringing a whole heap of trouble, anguish and heartache her way.

Once again Rosa deals with troubled waters in her own unorthodox way but Rosa’s way isn’t always the best way and it’s not until things in her life reach a crisis point that she starts to take stock of her life and her emotional wellbeing.

During all this turmoil a few other catastrophes are sent to try Rosa’s resolve and the poor lass has had an awful lot to deal with.

With her generous, kind and unique friends and with the introduction of new characters Rosa’s life is slowly put together again.

Nicola May has written another fabulously, funny, flirty romance.  You can’t help but love Rosa with her imperfections and her gorgeous little sausage dog, Hot.  This series is a perfect pick-you-up read that will have you chuckling, smiling, crying and swooning over the pages.

Rosa Larkin is down on her luck in London, so when she inherits a near-derelict corner shop in a quaint Devon village, her first thought is to sell it for cash and sort out her life. But nothing is straightforward about this legacy. While the identity of her benefactor remains a mystery, he – or she – has left one important legal proviso: that the shop cannot be sold, only passed on to somebody who really deserves it.

Rosa makes up her mind to give it a go: to put everything she has into getting the shop up and running again in the small seaside community of Cockleberry Bay. But can she do it all on her own? And if not, who will help her succeed – and who among the following will work secretly to see her fail?

There is a handsome rugby player, a sexy plumber, a charlatan reporter and a selection of meddling locals. Add in a hit and run incident and the disappearance of a valuable engraved necklace – and what you get is a journey of self-discovery and unpredictable events.

With surprising and heartfelt results, Rosa, accompanied at all times by her little sausage dog Hot, will slowly unravel the shadowy secrets of the inheritance, and also bring her own, long-hidden heritage into the light.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of  this book.  All opinions are my own and no content may be copied.  However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of Nicola May’s latest novel: The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay.

I absolutely adored this new romcom by Nicola May.  It was fabulously funny, flirty and full of magic and mystery.

When Rosa Larkin found out she had inherited an old shop in a village in Devon, she couldn’t quite believe her luck and was a little mystified with the bequeath.  But this somewhat unusual inheritance was just what Rosa needed to get her life back on track.  Rosa’s life has been full of heartache and trials and she has struggled laying down foundations and committing herself in life and love.  Packing up her belongings and her beloved rescue dog, Hot, Rosa leaves the city of London to travel to the quaint village of Cockleberry Bay.  Relishing the challenge of owning her own business and home Rosa felt invigorated for the first time in her life.  The expectancy of a quiet life in this sleepy village wasn’t to last long and all sorts of events, intrigue and new acquaintances were to grace Rosa’s new life.

I loved Rosa’s character, she was such fun and had a little spark about her despite her insecurities and sadness from her past.  Her beloved sidekick/pet sausage dog, Hot, was the cutest sounding dog I’ve read about.  The author Nicola May has also introduced us to some fabulous sub-characters in this story; characters that are quirky, charming, sexy and some that are full of mystical qualities.  I loved the air of mystery surrounding the benefactor, it gave another dimension to the story, a story that held many secrets in the walls of the little corner shop.

A fabulously flirty romcom to fall in love with.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this novel.  All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

I loved every page of this novel it was so addictive; it’s fun, flirty, fruity storyline kept me fully engaged and entertained and I had to know what happened next.

Cali was still feeling very heart broken from the break-up of her marriage to Jamie.  It’s been a year since he walked out of their marriage and into the arms of their personal trainer.

Cali’s emotions were still quite raw but she felt like she needed to move on and joined up to the dating app Tinder.  As a Tinder virgin she wasn’t use to the protocol of online dating but she was soon lining up her first dates.  However, possible mates on the dating app are not so forthcoming with the full facts on their profiles which Cali discovers with quite comical and alarming results!

After a few rocky starts on the dating app scene Cali does find some gems and she is soon enamoured by a couple and starts to have a little fun.  Fun is all well and good but it doesn’t give you the warmth of companionship in a loving relationship and Cali was still feeling lonely.

We follow Cali on her journey finding romance through the dating app and struggling with the emotions following her break-up.

The author, Nicola May, has created a fun, flirty, sexy read that will totally entertain you.  Nicola May’s style of writing is honest and she has a fabulous sense of humour that spills out across the pages.  I loved the sub-characters Adam and Will especially and there was a little feather friend that took centre stage very often.  Fabulously fruity and lots of fun!
