I’d like to thank the publishers and netgalley for an arc in return for an honest review.

This is the second book written by Rebecca Pugh, Rebecca has a way of describing her settings for her novels so beautifully and full of character and charm that make you want to get in your car and drive down to Sunset Bay.

Two sisters, Mia and Laurie, haven’t seen eye to eye for a few years.  Since the death of their beloved Grandma Dolly the girls went their separate ways.

Mia carried on living in her Gran’s gorgeous, character filled home in Honeysuckle Cottage in the picturesque Sunset Bay.  She also took up the reigns of the running of Dolly’s Diner, a 1950’s inspired diner, right on the beach front of Sunset Bay.  Dolly’s Diner is very special to Mia as it was her Grandmother’s dream to have her own diner and when her dream was fulfilled with creating Dolly’s Diner she couldn’t have been happier. When her lovely granddaughters, Mia and Laurie, visited the diner they fell in love with the diner too, especially Mia.  So to be left the diner in her grandmother’s will Mia felt honoured and privileged to be living out her and her late Gran’s dream.

Laurie’s life wasn’t quite so picturesque.  Laurie had been pressured since school and uni to do more with her life.  This all led to Laurie living and working in London, with her career plan starting in a solicitors.  Laurie had been content with her work and her relationship with Neil her boyfriend but felt the constant pressure of having to achieve all the time.  Following the death of one of Laurie’s closest friends Laurie starts looking at her life and realises she wants more.  Her life is soon turned upside down when she catches her boyfriend in an act of infidelity.  Heartbroken and still grieving the loss of her friend Laurie decides to take a sabbatical and packs her bags and drives down to the only place she believes she will gain peace … Sunset Bay.

When the sisters meet up again words are said and misunderstandings emerge.

We follow Mia and Laurie’s journey of finding each other again.  Finding friendships and love in a beautiful setting.  We learn that life can be simpler and more beautiful if we step away from one destiny and change direction into another.

A gorgeous, heart warming romance perfect for a cold winter’s day. 5/5*

I’d like to thank the publishers and the author for an arc in return for an honest review.

I was so excited for Rebecca leading up to the publication of her debut novel, its been a vision of Beccas for so long, she is an avid reader and has had the dream of having her own book published, this dream has now become a reality.  I am thrilled to be part of the blogtour promoting this book.

What a delightful and utterly gorgeous debut novel by Rebecca Pugh.  I devoured this story so quickly.  Rebecca’s words flowed freely on the page and I found myself wanting and needing to turn the pages and read more.  Rebecca has certainly created a perfect ‘book boyfriend’ in Reuben. When Reuben’s character was first described in the story I thought he sounded delicious and I could see his charm would be irresistible to the reader.

At the start of the book Jessica, the main character, had just been dealt with some traumatic news of her parents’ death.  Jessica hadn’t returned to the family home in many years following her sudden departure when she was 18. Mystery was surrounding her reasons to leave home and stay away.  However, Jessica had no choice but to return to Bluebell House.  This journey was a difficult one.  The walls of her family home held many secrets, was Jessica ready to unearth these secrets, will she ever be ready?

The description of Bluebell Hill and it’s surroundings sounded idyllic, there is nothing more beautiful than nature at it’s finest.  Rebecca Pugh’s visualisation of Bluebell House was easy to picture with the wonderful portrayal of this stunning property.  I particularly loved the sound of the stained glass window.

Jessica had certainly gone on a different quest when she returned to her family home however, this journey would be a life affirming one, a journey of chance, a journey of possible new beginnings and new friendships.

A great debut novel that was heart warming, sexy, intriguing and beautiful.  I look forward to more from this new aspiring author and wish Rebecca lots of success.

A gorgeous, romantic, feel good 5/5* read.
