I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel, Dreaming of St Tropez.

Once again the author T. A. Williams has taken me on a summer holiday with his sumptuous descriptions of the locations in his stories.  Dreaming of St Tropez I would imagine is the type of idyllic setting that everyone has fantasised about sometime in their lifetime.  The author shows us that there is definitely more to St Tropez that the glitz and glamour of the rich and famous.  There is a quiet, peaceful existence of life-long residents of this town on the coast of the French Riviera who have made this their home.  There is also a historical side with remnants of WWII involvement still evident in the hills and woodlands and I was intrigued and fascinated by this when we read glimpses of it in the storyline.

Jess is an esteemed architect in London and has worked with many high profile clients.  When her latest client causes her complications at work another client comes to her rescue with an offer of a temporary work/vacation in St Tropez with the proviso Jess takes along the client’s dog with her.  Jess’ best friend Hope also tags along for the ride and the girls with a rather stout black Labrador Brutus start their adventure heading to the south of France.

Jess’ client forgot to mention that the family she’ll be staying with in St Tropez have suffered greatly and both father and son are feeling at a loss with the world.  Can Jess, Hope and lovable Brutus start to bring sunshine back into their hearts and souls?

I loved discovering a new exciting, beautiful area with Jess, Hope and Brutus, especially the lesser known areas of the town.  St Tropez sounded so beautiful, so idyllic and very glamorous.  This was a wonderful, heart warming story full of unexpected drama and a lovely blossoming romance.  It was just such a lovely read bringing the sunshine from St Tropez to your heart.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this novel.  All opinions are my own and no content may be copied. However, authors and publishers may use elements of my reviews for quotes.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel:  Dreaming of Florence.

There is a recognised quote “Reading is dreaming with open eyes” and the author T. A. Williams has a unique skill of instantly transporting the reader to the locations of his novels.  You can fully appreciate the research he has undertaken as the knowledge of the areas he writes about with it’s beauty, heritage and history is spelled out across the pages.  After reading this new novel by T. A. Williams I too am dreaming of Florence …

Debbie Waterson is an English teacher currently based in Cambridge teaching her native language to foreign students.  Following the break up of a relationship Debbie’s work is her life but when she accidentally bumps into a handsome Italian Dr her childhood dreams of the Italian city of Florence start to feel like a possible reality.

Debbie’s current job is in jeapordy and she is forced to look elsewhere for employment and when an opportunity arises to teach in Florence she excitedly grabs the chance to fulfil her dreams and maybe also to see more of the dishy Dr Pierluigi.

The city of her dreams is all that she has envisioned and her heart is filling with the love of it’s culture and heritage.  However, her blossoming romance with Pierluigi is set for doom.  Brushing down the let down of her new love Debbie ploughs herself into her new job and making new acquaintances.  Life is turning out pretty well for Debbie until one eventful night that brings her in the hands of danger.  Can her city of dreams heal her heart and mind and bring her all that she desires?

I really enjoyed Dreaming of Florence, the author takes you on a wonderful picturesque journey with Debbie discovering a new city and friends.  However, when the storyline takes on a darker side the author treads very carefully and deals with a serious issue with a touch of grace.  A heartwarming tale of new beginnings in life and love.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of To Provence, with Love by T. A. Williams.

This was another lovely romance from T. A. Williams.  What I love about his stories is that I feel instantly transported to the beautiful areas he talks about.  With this story I was delivered to the aromatic fields and fauna of the Provence in the south of France.  Where the fields of green had magically turned to a stunning hue of purple with fields and fields of lavender filling the air with it’s heady scent.

Faye Carter, a language teacher at a secondary school in inner city London, was feeling despondent with her career.  She had just recently self-published her debut novel and knew she wanted more than the constraints of the city classroom.  When she was approached about an unusual, secret and quite exciting job prospect Faye took up the chance to find out more.  The job entailed writing the biography of screen siren Annabelle Beech and working alongside her at her chateau in France.  Now 82 and retired from the screen Annabelle has many tales to tell.  However, Annabelle is holding back a secret from her history from the year 1955 which holds a great significance to Faye.  Opening up about the actresses life is proving very emotive, can Annabelle gain strength from within and delve into her past and reveal all?

Six months working for the aging actress is a welcome break for Faye and she is loving this new experience.  Her heart has recently been battered but when she bumps into the local lavender farmer Gavin, Faye cannot help her initial attraction to him.  However, Gavin has experienced so much heartbreak and it is clearly written on his face.  Faye vows to become his friend and help him out of his sorrow.  What she doesn’t expect is to fall for him but with her time in the Provence soon to come to an end she’s not sure what her future holds and whether there will be room for a lavender farmer.

A lovely, cosy romance that for me ended too soon.  I would have loved the story to continue a little more and I do love an epilogue.  A story that will transport you both visually and aromatically to fields of purple blending with hearts of gold.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel.

This is the second time slip romance I’ve read in the last couple of weeks and it’s a genre I’m loving more and more. T A Williams has written many romcoms but this is his first time slip romance, with his love of history I was really excited about this release and I wasn’t disappointed.

The story starts back in 1314 in the Pyrenees were a terrible crime has been committed. Back in the present day we meet Amy who was involved in a tragic accident 5 years ago which has left her blind. Amy has been trying to rebuild her life since the accident and as a Medieval History graduate she decides to take on a journey reminiscent to the pilgrims back in medieval time. The sacred journey is historical and many millions of people, pilgrims in the past and now tourists take on the challenge across tough terrains and countries to get to their goal, Santiago do Compostela and especially to pay respects to the shrine of Saint James the Great. Due to Amy’s disability she has to hire a guide, her guide is another Medieval History graduate who was recommended to her by a mutual friend.

Amy and Luke decide to make their journey more interesting and to also break the ice with each other and create a story between themselves of a man and woman thrown together in unprecedented circumstances. A parallel storyline of this man and this woman taking the same journey that Amy and Luke are enduring but the major difference in the mirrored story is that this couple take their steps over 700 years in the past.

It was clever of T A Williams to talk of this parallel story, I could imagine the huge difference this same journey undertaken were quite extreme. Back in 1314 the terrain was hard going, the paths were through mountains and woods only passable on foot and if you were lucky by cart through the more habitable towns and villages. In the present day this journey can be easily done via a motor vehicle with plenty of well equipped hostels and hotels en route.

It was a voyage of discovery for both stories. A discovery of hope and strength through terrible heart breaking events. A discover of strangers pulling together, working as a team, to achieve their goals and ultimately survive. Amy and Luke have both suffered and witnessed traumatic events in the past and this journey seems to put some of these torments behind them, giving them encouragement to let go of the past and learn to listen to their heart again.

Chasing Shadows has it all. We are transported to a forgotten time which the author brings to life. It was gripping, dramatic, awe inspiring at times and heart warming. I felt quite emotional and awestruck at the end. I look forward to more time slip romances from T A Williams.
