I am so pleased to be involved in the Publication Day Push in celebration of the launch of T.A. Williams latest novel: Secrets on the Italian Island. Secrets on the Italian Island is Book 3 in the Escape to Tuscany series and each story is a standalone novel. They are perfect introductions to a new author and once you’ve sampled his work you can escape to Tuscany and more with his books.

With every book by T.A. Williams you can guarantee you’ll be whisked away to a place of beauty. T.A. Williams knows his locations so well his words transport me and I feel I can picture the setting, experience the sights, tastes and aromas and enjoy discovering new cultures.

Secrets on the Italian Island is another classic from the author, it’s a story about Anna, a geologist, who is in her late twenties and currently lives and breathes work. She loves her work but is starting to doubt her current work life balance, as it’s pretty much one sided! Her latest work case is to tour around the beautiful Italian island, Elba, with a view to unearthing rare metals underground.

Elba sounded like a stunningly beautiful island that has tried to keep to it’s natural habitat and not let tourists and multi-national businesses spoil it’s outlook.

Anna soon gets to know the area and a few locals who soon become friends but she finds it difficult to keep her job and the reason she is on the island secret. The residents of Elba are understandably very protective of their unspoilt island.

Whilst Anna is searching the island she is also doing a lot of soul searching herself. Within the matter of a few weeks her non-existent personal life has become complicated with the attention of two men. Two very different men and Anna is confused which way her will go.

Secrets on the Italian Island is a lovely contemporary romance that feels like a travelogue. The author packs so much detail about his settings including the history and architecture of the area, you find yourself wanting to learn more. I always also enjoy the inclusion of a faithful dog companion in the storyline bringing a fun, comforting element.

Once again another sunshine filled story that was delightful, romantic, interesting and poignant.

Author Bio – I’m a man. And a pretty old man as well. I did languages at university a long time ago and then lived and worked in France and Switzerland before going to Italy for seven years as a teacher of English. My Italian wife and I then came back to the UK with our little daughter (now long-since grown up) where I ran a big English language school for many years. We now live in a sleepy little village in Devonshire. I’ve been writing almost all my life but it was only seven years ago that I finally managed to find a publisher who liked my work enough to offer me my first contract.

The fact that I am now writing romantic comedy is something I still find hard to explain. My early books were thrillers and historical novels. Maybe it’s because there are so many horrible things happening in the world today that I feel I need to do my best to provide something to cheer my readers up. My books provide escapism to some gorgeous locations, even if travel to them is currently difficult.

I am so pleased to be involved in the Publication Day Push celebrating and promoting the launch of T.A. Williams latest novel: Under a Siena Sun.

Catapulted from the war torn fields of Africa to the beautiful hills of Siena our kind, caring leading lady Dr Lucy Young is finding it difficult to adjust and finds it unjustifiable how life fairs so differently for many.

Lucy is now in Tuscany receiving some much needed R&R after a physically and mentally demanding time working in extreme situations for the Medecins Sans Frontieres.  She’s quickly gained new employment at a private clinic but isn’t sure how long she can cope working for the privileged.  However, Lucy soon falls in love with Siena; it’s history, it’s landscape and it’s very friendly neighbourhood dog.  All this beauty surrounding her gives her much joy and peace.

Lucy starts to grow more than platonic feelings for her reclusive neighbour and soon learns they share a love of history and their friendship blossoms.  However, Lucy’s old woes of principles keep fighting with her conscience and she doesn’t know if she can fit in this new lifestyle.

Whenever I read a book by T.A. Williams he peeks my fascination with his locations.  I appreciate and relish the extensive research he has taken for his storylines and can feel the author’s love of the history of a location emanating from the pages.  I long to visit many of T.A. Williams book locations to sample the local delicacies, visit the beautiful area but mainly walk the paths of our ancestors.

Under a Siena Sun is a beautifully, fascinating story that is romantic and heartfelt.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting T.A. Williams latest novel: Dreaming of Rome.  Once again author T.A. Williams whisks you away to a beautiful location describing the sights, sounds and culture with ease giving you an insight to idyllic areas leaving you with a thirst to visit.  Dreaming of Rome takes you to the historical city of Rome that is steeped with history and full of monumental structures of importance.

Dreaming of Rome is a story of two highly intelligent beautiful people brought together by the link of their siblings who are soon due to be wed.

Jo has recently suffered with matters of the heart and as she’s approaching her 30’s Jo feels like the time is right to settle down but can she trust her heart with another?

Corrado is a handsome geek with Roman god-like looks with a view on love that is so scientific you can’t help feel that his views are a little regimental and he is missing out on a little magic.  He is highly successful in his field but his unusual way at looking at love thinking logically with his Scientist hat on and analysing all the chemical reactions in the mind and body coming to the conclusion that love doesn’t come into the equation.  However, when Corrado meets his future sister-in-law Jo he’s dazzled by her beauty, her zest for her beliefs and ideas and is charmed by her interest in lepidopterology.  But when Corrado starts to experience new emotions around Jo he becomes very confused and is almost shocked at this new change of reaction.

There’s a moment in the story when life becomes a little clearer for our leading lady and gent, as if they’ve been looking at the world through misty glasses and now the view is crystal clear, it is quite a beautiful, tender moment that I felt as equally emotional as the characters.

I really enjoyed this story with a very current topic on conservation that I found very interesting and I also loved Jo’s love of butterflies, these two areas in the storyline felt like an added bonus in the whole reading experience.  It was such a gorgeous romance that I was sad for the story to come to an end.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting T.A. Williams latest novel: Dreaming of Tuscany.  I always look forward to a new release from T.A. Williams as I know I will be treated to a read that’s both atmospheric and heart-warming and his latest novel, Dreaming of Tuscany, did not disappoint.

T.A. Williams has a wonderful ability of transporting his readers to stunning, idyllic places. This time we travel to Tuscany and with the author’s wealth of knowledge regarding the history, architecture and culture of Italy we are soon made to feel very welcome.

Dreaming of Tuscany is a contemporary romance filled with warmth, charm and romance. We follow our leading lady, Bee Kingdom, who has been providing historical research and support for a movie set in Tuscany. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes and Bee is seriously injured during an accident on set. Waking up in hospital with uncertainty regarding her wounds Bee is feeling very nervous. She is given the chance to recover at a remote Tuscan villa alongside movie star, Mimi Robertson, who was also injured in the accident.

The villa is so remote and so different to the hustle and bustle of her home back in London but Bee soon finds herself a rhythm of a routine walking and admiring the views and natural habitat of rural Italy and finds herself company with a black Labrador called Romeo. Yes, we have our trusted furry friend in this story which is one of the beloved trademarks in the author’s work. Rest, sun and a chance to unwind soon start to get Bee back on the road to recovery.

Dreaming of Tuscany was such a lovely read and I felt like the author dealt with the seriousness of Bee’s injuries in a very sensitive but also positive manner. The storyline was captivating and charming and although it was a little predictable in places it still had all the attributes to a perfect feel-good read.  I hope there are more Dreaming of stories from T.A. Williams.

This was another gorgeous read from author T.A. Williams who once again takes his readers to an idyllic setting and makes you want your own snowy Austrian Christmas.

With every book that the author has written you can sense the depth of research he has undertaken with the locations of his novels.  The details of the setting was superb and you can almost feel the wintry chill and the tantalising aromas from the many traditional feasts and foodie delights that the characters enjoyed.

Zoe Lumsley has had a difficult year emotionally leading up to this Christmas with the aftermath of a break-up of her 10 year relationship with Grant, whom she met whilst at university.  When an unexpected invite arrives in the post to a reunion of all the students that lived in the same student house Zoe is very hesitant with the RSVP as she knows that Grant would have had the same invite.  However, this reunion is somewhat special, it’s a week in a luxury hotel in Austria and their host and fellow graduate is the shy, introvert geek Billy.  With the encouragement of her friend Zoe makes the trip and awaits her first encounter with Grant since the break-up.

This was a lovely festive story of catching-up with friends from 10 years ago and an awful lot of changes have happened with the addition of husbands, wives, children and an adorable black Labrador puppy.  Yay, we have our regular furry friend that the author T.A. Williams loves to include in his stories.  These additions changed the dynamic and personalities of the group.  For Zoe and all of the others they could immediately see a change in their host Billy who was now the owner of a successful international computer business and had accrued an almost allusive celebrity status with the addition of riches beyond our wildest dreams.  But Zoe could still see glimpses of the shy young man from university.

A story that will make you feel all festive and warm with it’s cosy romance.  A story that will delight you with the stunning setting that will take your breath away.

Dreaming of St Tropez Blog Tour Banner (1)

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel, Dreaming of St Tropez.

Once again the author T. A. Williams has taken me on a summer holiday with his sumptuous descriptions of the locations in his stories.  Dreaming of St Tropez I would imagine is the type of idyllic setting that everyone has fantasised about sometime in their lifetime.  The author shows us that there is definitely more to St Tropez that the glitz and glamour of the rich and famous.  There is a quiet, peaceful existence of life-long residents of this town on the coast of the French Riviera who have made this their home.  There is also a historical side with remnants of WWII involvement still evident in the hills and woodlands and I was intrigued and fascinated by this when we read glimpses of it in the storyline.

Jess is an esteemed architect in London and has worked with many high profile clients.  When her latest client causes her complications at work another client comes to her rescue with an offer of a temporary work/vacation in St Tropez with the proviso Jess takes along the client’s dog with her.  Jess’ best friend Hope also tags along for the ride and the girls with a rather stout black Labrador Brutus start their adventure heading to the south of France.

Jess’ client forgot to mention that the family she’ll be staying with in St Tropez have suffered greatly and both father and son are feeling at a loss with the world.  Can Jess, Hope and lovable Brutus start to bring sunshine back into their hearts and souls?

I loved discovering a new exciting, beautiful area with Jess, Hope and Brutus, especially the lesser known areas of the town.  St Tropez sounded so beautiful, so idyllic and very glamorous.  This was a wonderful, heart warming story full of unexpected drama and a lovely blossoming romance.  It was just such a lovely read bringing the sunshine from St Tropez to your heart.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel:  Dreaming of Florence.

There is a recognised quote “Reading is dreaming with open eyes” and the author T. A. Williams has a unique skill of instantly transporting the reader to the locations of his novels.  You can fully appreciate the research he has undertaken as the knowledge of the areas he writes about with it’s beauty, heritage and history is spelled out across the pages.  After reading this new novel by T. A. Williams I too am dreaming of Florence …

Debbie Waterson is an English teacher currently based in Cambridge teaching her native language to foreign students.  Following the break up of a relationship Debbie’s work is her life but when she accidentally bumps into a handsome Italian Dr her childhood dreams of the Italian city of Florence start to feel like a possible reality.

Debbie’s current job is in jeapordy and she is forced to look elsewhere for employment and when an opportunity arises to teach in Florence she excitedly grabs the chance to fulfil her dreams and maybe also to see more of the dishy Dr Pierluigi.

The city of her dreams is all that she has envisioned and her heart is filling with the love of it’s culture and heritage.  However, her blossoming romance with Pierluigi is set for doom.  Brushing down the let down of her new love Debbie ploughs herself into her new job and making new acquaintances.  Life is turning out pretty well for Debbie until one eventful night that brings her in the hands of danger.  Can her city of dreams heal her heart and mind and bring her all that she desires?

I really enjoyed Dreaming of Florence, the author takes you on a wonderful picturesque journey with Debbie discovering a new city and friends.  However, when the storyline takes on a darker side the author treads very carefully and deals with a serious issue with a touch of grace.  A heartwarming tale of new beginnings in life and love.

to provence with love tour poster

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of To Provence, with Love by T. A. Williams.

This was another lovely romance from T. A. Williams.  What I love about his stories is that I feel instantly transported to the beautiful areas he talks about.  With this story I was delivered to the aromatic fields and fauna of the Provence in the south of France.  Where the fields of green had magically turned to a stunning hue of purple with fields and fields of lavender filling the air with it’s heady scent.

Faye Carter, a language teacher at a secondary school in inner city London, was feeling despondent with her career.  She had just recently self-published her debut novel and knew she wanted more than the constraints of the city classroom.  When she was approached about an unusual, secret and quite exciting job prospect Faye took up the chance to find out more.  The job entailed writing the biography of screen siren Annabelle Beech and working alongside her at her chateau in France.  Now 82 and retired from the screen Annabelle has many tales to tell.  However, Annabelle is holding back a secret from her history from the year 1955 which holds a great significance to Faye.  Opening up about the actresses life is proving very emotive, can Annabelle gain strength from within and delve into her past and reveal all?

Six months working for the aging actress is a welcome break for Faye and she is loving this new experience.  Her heart has recently been battered but when she bumps into the local lavender farmer Gavin, Faye cannot help her initial attraction to him.  However, Gavin has experienced so much heartbreak and it is clearly written on his face.  Faye vows to become his friend and help him out of his sorrow.  What she doesn’t expect is to fall for him but with her time in the Provence soon to come to an end she’s not sure what her future holds and whether there will be room for a lavender farmer.

A lovely, cosy romance that for me ended too soon.  I would have loved the story to continue a little more and I do love an epilogue.  A story that will transport you both visually and aromatically to fields of purple blending with hearts of gold.

Amy had it all – money, brains and beauty. And then the accident happened.

The Present Day: Left blind and without her family, Amy feels she needs to get away. On a trip along the Camino, she is accompanied by the mysterious and troubled Luke. Having been set up to help Amy by a mutual friend, Luke finds he is also running from his past…

1314: A Templar Knight, Luc, is also running. He meets the wife of a former comrade, now blinded in a terrifying attack: Aimee. Taking her under his wing, they must journey together through a dangerous world.

As they travel through the stunning scenery of Northern Spain, this couple, so very like Luke and Amy, emerge from the shadows of time carrying a treasure of inestimable value.

Chasing Shadows is an enchanting novel about the search for happiness, fulfilment… and love.

I am so pleased to be involved in the blogtour celebrating and promoting the launch of T. A. Williams latest novel.

This is the second time slip romance I’ve read in the last couple of weeks and it’s a genre I’m loving more and more. T A Williams has written many romcoms but this is his first time slip romance, with his love of history I was really excited about this release and I wasn’t disappointed.

The story starts back in 1314 in the Pyrenees were a terrible crime has been committed. Back in the present day we meet Amy who was involved in a tragic accident 5 years ago which has left her blind. Amy has been trying to rebuild her life since the accident and as a Medieval History graduate she decides to take on a journey reminiscent to the pilgrims back in medieval time. The sacred journey is historical and many millions of people, pilgrims in the past and now tourists take on the challenge across tough terrains and countries to get to their goal, Santiago do Compostela and especially to pay respects to the shrine of Saint James the Great. Due to Amy’s disability she has to hire a guide, her guide is another Medieval History graduate who was recommended to her by a mutual friend.

Amy and Luke decide to make their journey more interesting and to also break the ice with each other and create a story between themselves of a man and woman thrown together in unprecedented circumstances. A parallel storyline of this man and this woman taking the same journey that Amy and Luke are enduring but the major difference in the mirrored story is that this couple take their steps over 700 years in the past.

It was clever of T A Williams to talk of this parallel story, I could imagine the huge difference this same journey undertaken were quite extreme. Back in 1314 the terrain was hard going, the paths were through mountains and woods only passable on foot and if you were lucky by cart through the more habitable towns and villages. In the present day this journey can be easily done via a motor vehicle with plenty of well equipped hostels and hotels en route.

It was a voyage of discovery for both stories. A discovery of hope and strength through terrible heart breaking events. A discover of strangers pulling together, working as a team, to achieve their goals and ultimately survive. Amy and Luke have both suffered and witnessed traumatic events in the past and this journey seems to put some of these torments behind them, giving them encouragement to let go of the past and learn to listen to their heart again.

Chasing Shadows has it all. We are transported to a forgotten time which the author brings to life. It was gripping, dramatic, awe inspiring at times and heart warming. I felt quite emotional and awestruck at the end. I look forward to more time slip romances from T A Williams.
